The policy aims to ensure that disciplinary matters are handled consistently, proportionately, and in accordance with the principles of natural justice and the relevant laws of the Republic of Malawi, including the Employment Act (Cap. 55:02) and the Universities policies

The Bachelor of Science in Community Development Programme at the University of Lilongwe is designed to prepare students to respond to the current needs and challenges in both rural and urban communities. It will help graduates to be well grounded in the general principles and theories as well as practices in community development. It is also meant to support efforts in building the capacity of local institutions to sustainably manage the environment and natural resources. The Bachelor Science in Community Development degree programme has been designed to develop the practicing and non-practicing cadres to acquirer knowledge which is key to their future career and academic advancement.

The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism has been introduced at the University of Lilongwe in response to the shortage of professionally trained personnel in journalism. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree at the University of Lilongwe will take advantage of an exciting blend of professional and academic journalism training. Our degree combines academic communications theory and practice with hands-on training in media writing, radio, video and online media production and media relations. A wide range of skills catered to the demands of the journalism industry are offered. With these skills, our graduates are being prepared to enter fields like international communications, media regulation and public policy, print, broadcast, and online journalism, media, and public relations.
